Beulah B (Carlock) Castleman

Beulah B. Castleman, 91, of Sorento, Illinois, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2019 at 8:20 a.m., at her residence. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro, IL.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 7, 2019, at 10:00 a.m., at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Coffeen, IL.  Burial will take place in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Coffeen, IL.  Rev. Don Price, Pastor of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Coffeen, IL, will officiate.

Mrs. Castleman was born on March 6, 1928 in Coffeen, IL to the late Virgil and Mary (Criner) Carlock.  She was a graduate of Coffeen High School, Coffeen, IL and worked as a secretary at McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis, MO.  Mrs. Castleman lived in Granite City, IL, Arizona, and Sorento, IL since 1972.  She married Melvin E. Castleman on May 11, 1970 in East St. Louis, IL and he preceded her on March 9, 2001.

Mrs. Castleman is survived by two children, Allen (wife Marsha) Ellsworth of Donnellson, IL and Tim (wife Kim) Ellsworth of Donnellson, IL; seven grandchildren, Kelly Ellsworth, Keith Ellsworth, Kim Smith, Tina Powell, Natalie Bellovich, Carrie Gass, and Nicole Shomaker; twenty-two great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Jewell White, Wanda Compton, Nelda Adkisson, and Melba Lee Olson.

Mrs. Castleman was also preceded by a son, Roger Ellsworth on October 19, 2010.

Memorials may be given to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital.
