Lawrence Keith Koonce

Lawrence K. “Keith” Koonce, 73, of Litchfield, IL, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2019, at 8:25 p.m., at his residence. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at First United Penecostal Church, Nokomis, IL.  Brother LaVerne Bell, Jr. will officiate.  Burial will take place at a later date in McInturff Cemetery, Bear Grove Township, Fayette County, Illinois.

Mr. Koonce was born on March 2, 1946, in St. Elmo, IL, to the late Roy and Merena (Jay) Koonce. He attended Hillsboro High School in Hillsboro, IL.

He married, Alice Marie Beck in Irving, IL and she preceded him in death.  Mr. Koonce worked as a maintenance man at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield, IL for 35 years and lived in Montgomery County his entire life.

Mr. Koonce is survived by his children  son, Lloyd (wife Raecine) Koonce of Witt, IL and daughter, Joyce (husband Tim) Harrell of Tennessee; eight grandchildren, Tim Harrell, Brad Harrell, Samantha Koonce, Dayton Koonce, Brian K. Stanbery, Josh Stanbery, Amanda Christian, Lance Stanbery; and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Mr. Koonce was preceded in death by his parents: wife: son, Roger Koonce; two brothers, Don Koonce and Bill Koonce; and two sisters in infancy.
