Barbara Jean (Johnson) Morell

Barbara Jean Morell, 64, of Hillsboro, IL passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at 12:56 p.m. at her residence. Cremation rites were accorded. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro, IL.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro, IL. Rev. Kevin Simburger will officiate.  We will be following COVID-19 CDC Guidelines with the use of masks and social distancing.

Ms. Morell was born on May 13, 1956, in Hannibal, MO. She is the daughter of Charles H. and Doris J. (Ogden) Johnson. Her father preceded her in death and her mother, Doris J. (Ogden) Payad survives in Lebanon, TN. She graduated Staunton High School in Staunton, IL in 1974. She married Gregory Morell on July 11, 1989 at Hillsboro First Baptist Church, Hillsboro, IL and he survives in Hillsboro, IL. She worked as a Nursing Assistant and Activity Director at Hillsboro Rehab & Health Care Center in Hillsboro, IL. Mrs. Morell had lived in Staunton, IL and Hillsboro, IL.

Mrs. Morell is survived by her husband, Gregory Morell; her mother, Doris (Ogden) Johnson; as well as her children - William “Billy” Morell of Hillsboro, IL; Joann (husband, Dustin) Watson of Hillsboro, IL; Justin (wife, Christi) Morell of St. Louis, MO; and Brandon (wife, Breann) Morell of Litchfield, IL; ten grandchildren - Matthew Watson, Tyler Watson, Thomas Watson, Kaden Watson, Jacob Bourke, Faith Morell, Brandon Morell, Evan King, Avery Morell, and Trenton Morell; as well as three sisters - Linda Neylon of Chicago, IL; Dorothy (husband, George) Parides of Scottsdale, AZ and Elizabeth (husband, Daniel) Sherfy of Lebanon, TN. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles H. Johnson; as well as her brother Roger Johnson.
