Floyd O. “Tuffy” Taylor, 77, of Irving, IL, passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at 1:15 a.m., at his residence. Cremation rites were accorded and no services are planned at this time.
Mr. Taylor was born on October 28, 1943, in Hillsboro, IL, to the late Ross R. and Mary Jane (Wilhelm) Taylor. He attended Irving High School, Irving, IL and was a school teacher for a short time, and an equipment operator at Hulcher’s Quarry, which became Bremer Quarry, which became Material Service Quarry, which became Hanson Rock Quarry from which he retired. Mr. Taylor lived in Irving, IL during his lifetime. He married Marilyn Lehnen on September 4, 1965 in Irving, IL and she survives in Irving, IL. Mr. Taylor was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved being outdoors, loved sports, and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Taylor is survived by his son, Tim (wife Angie) Taylor of Witt, IL; two grandchildren, Kaitlin (husband Corbin) Govaia of Witt, IL, and Ashlin Taylor of Witt, IL; and three great-grandchildren, Jaelyn Murray, Josselyn Murray, and Jackelynn Govaia; and brothers, Charles Taylor of Joliet, IL, and Edwin Taylor of Cookeville, TN.
