James L. Herpstreith, 61, of Nokomis, IL passed away peacefully at home with family on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 12:53 a.m. Cremation rites were accorded and no services are planned at this time.

James was born on September 20, 1960 in Hillsboro, IL to Merle and Patricia (Durbin) Herpstreith. James graduated Witt High School in 1978. He had worked at Material Service/Hanson Quarry in Nokomis, IL. James married Sharon Reynolds in 1990, and they divorced in 2015. James is survived by his mother, Patricia Durbin Herpstreith of Owaneco, IL; daughters, Brett (husband, Corey) Gross of Nokomis, IL and Sydney Herpstreith of Assumption, IL; grandchildren, Logan, Blakely, and Graham Gross; Siblings, Richard Herpstreith of Witt, IL, Kevin (wife, Patty) Herpstreith of Nokomis, Charlie (wife, Cindy) Herpstreith of Taylorville, IL and Katrina Boliard of Nokomis, IL; and step-siblings, Denise (husband, Roger) Buske and Nancy Jo Halleman.

James was preceded in death by his father, Merle Herpstreith; step-mother, Nancy (Anderson) Herpstreith; siblings, David Herpstreith, Gary Herpstreith, Susan Shears and Robert Herpstreith; and step-brothers, Douglas Anderson and David Anderson.
