Lynn P. Keepper, 70, of Hillsboro, IL passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at 7:24 a.m. at Hillsboro Rehabilitation & Health Center in Hillsboro, IL. Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Ware’s Grove Cemetery in Rural Butler, IL. Rev. Stephan Munker, Pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, IL will officiate. Burial will be held at Ware’s Grove Cemetery in Rural Butler, IL. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at The Event Center of Montgomery County in Taylor Springs, IL.
Mr. Keepper was born on January 7, 1952 in Hillsboro, IL to the late Howard W. Keepper & Ruth LaVerne (Short) Keepper. He was a Hillsboro High School Graduate, Class of 1970; attended Eastern Illinois University for 1 year, then graduated from Southern Illinois University Carbondale with a Major in Zoology and a Minor in Chemistry. Mr. Keepper went on to become a Chemistry Supervisor at the Coffeen Illinois Power Station, and later worked for Ameren. He married Paula Ishmael on May 26, 1979 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, IL; she survives in Hillsboro, IL. Mr. Keepper enjoyed playing golf and bowling, and coaching his kid’s youth sporting teams. He had lived in Hillsboro, IL his entire life.
Along with his wife, Paula Keepper of Hillsboro, IL; Mr. Keepper is also survived by his children, Byran (wife, Jessica) Keepper of Hillsboro, IL & Andrea (husband, Chuck) Durbin of Butler, IL; three grandchildren, Skylar Durbin, Conner Durbin and Sharayah Keepper; and sister, Kay Neely of Hillsboro, IL. Mr. Keepper was preceded in death by his parents, Howard W. Keepper & Ruth LaVerne (Short) Keepper, his brother, Kent Keepper, and his brother-in-law, Michael “Mick” Neely.
Memorials may be given to Hillsboro Association for Musical Parents (HAMP), Hillsboro Sports Boosters, and the Hillsboro Education Foundation.
