Malinda Ann “Lynn” Guinn of Hillsboro passed away peacefully at her home on November 29, 2022 after courageously battling Parkinson’s disease and cancer.
Many years ago Lynn agreed to donate her body to Washington University School of Medicine which is symbolic of the selflessness she exemplified each and every day. Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home is assisting the family. At her request, no services will be held. A private family gathering will take place at a later date.
Lynn was born in Greenville on September 7, 1937; the fourth of seven children born to Willis A. and Viola L. (Hicks) Fenton. She married Larry L. Guinn on June 10, 1988, and he mourns her loss.
Lynn was a passionate St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed fishing, gardening, word puzzles, solitaire, and visits with friends and family. Her children and grandchildren were always remembered with a birthday card. She was known as a hard worker and had been employed by Roller Derby Skate Corporation, Propellex, The V.F.W., and Turtles Tap.
In addition to her husband of 34 years, Lynn is lovingly survived by daughter and son-in-law Mona and Dick Elam Jr.; son and daughter-in-law John and Vicki Bledsoe, all of Hillsboro; step-sons Steve (Shellie West) Guinn of Nokomis and Kevin (Dana) Guinn of Hillsboro; sister Nellie Moore of Port Charlotte, FL and brother John W (Alice) Fenton of Hillsboro. She also was blessed with fifteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by daughters Jamie E. Joyce in 2009, and Kim L. Chambers in 2013; sisters Vada L. Carter and Gloria June Clayton; and brothers Alva Lee and Bruce Fenton.
