Margie M (Van Ostran) White

Margie M. (Van Ostran) White, 79, of Coffeen, IL, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at 9:57 a.m. at her residence.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. (noon) to 1:00 p.m. at Toberman-Dean Funeral Home, Coffeen, IL.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Toberman-Dean Funeral Home, Coffeen, IL.  Rev. Betzy Elifrits-Warren, Pastor of Wesley Foundation at Eastern Illinois University, Charleston, IL, will officiate. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery in Coffeen, IL.

Mrs. White was born on January 29, 1941 in Missouri to the late George and Lois (Sudheimer) Van Ostran.  She worked as a cook at the Ariston Café in Litchfield, IL and has been retired for several years.  Mrs. White lived in Irving, IL and Coffeen, IL during her lifetime.  She married Walt Schroedel and they later divorced.  She married Gary White on April 22, 1995 at Calvary Baptist Church, Hillsboro, IL and he survives in Coffeen, IL.  Mrs. White was a member of the Coffeen Red Hat Ladies, Coffeen, IL.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. White is survived by a daughter, Becky Bergin of Vandalia, IL; two step-children, Sheila (husband, Ray) White of Coffeen, IL, and Ronnie (wife, Vicki) White of Greenfield, IL; two grandchildren, Kathrine Bergin of Vandalia, IL, and Sarah Bergin of Shelbyville, IL; six step-grandchildren, Adam White of Greenfield, IL, April Dowland of Greenfield, IL, Travis White of Austin, TX, Matthew White of Peoria, IL, Jeremy White of Hillsboro, IL, and Shane (wife Dana) White of Fillmore, IL; ten step-great-grandchildren; and siblings, Marie Smith, Gladys Jett, Mary Dullenty, Mattie Brown, and James Van Ostran.

Mrs. White was also preceded in death by two brothers.
