Thomas B. Kenney

Thomas Bliss Kenney 73, of Coffeen, formally of Hillsboro, came into this world on July 31st 1948 and his work here on earth was done on Oct. 10th 2021 at 1:06 am. He took his last breath with his loving wife of 42 years and his daughter by his side at St. John's hospital in Springfield after a long and tiresome fight with kidney disease/dialysis. He was born to James and Patty (Bliss) Kenney in Hillsboro and they preceded him in death. Tom went to Hillsboro High School, but later received his GED and went on to enlist in the United States Air Force, being an MP. After being honorably discharged on Nov. 26th 1971, he became disabled, but loved wood working, welding, and working with leather. He loved being a husband, a dad, and a grandpa and loved spending time with family and friends and if he couldn't spend time with them he loved being on the phone with them, living vicariously
 through their lives. He married Linda Hamilton at his mom's beautiful home on Hickory Street in Hillsboro on Aug. 11th 1979. They had one daughter Patricia Marie Beard, that he loved very much, and always had to tell her how thankful he was for her and her mother.
Mr. Kenney is survived by his loving wife, Linda, his daughter Patty (Toby) Beard, his granddaughter, Tyler Beard, his grandson Deven Beard, all of Coffeen, His mother in law Doris Hamilton of Taylor Springs, His 2 brothers Robert "Bobby" Kenney, James "Jimmy" (Charlene) Kenney from Hillsboro, 1 niece Linda (Kenney) Seaborne, 2 nephews Daniel and Clint Kenney, 3 great nieces, 4 great nephews, 1 great great nephew, and many cousins and dear friends... He will be missed very much. 

The family will accept visitors from 10am until the service time.
Funeral services for Mr. Kenney will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 23rd, at Toberman-Dean funeral home in Coffeen with Kevin Simburger officiating.
