Virginia Compton

Virginia Compton, 80, of Coffeen, IL passed away on Monday, November 16, 2020 at 11:25 a.m. at her residence. Cremation rites were accorded and no services are planned at this time.

Ms. Compton was born on August 19, 1940 to the late Roy Sutley and Ola Lee Gordman.  Ms. Compton was a homemaker; she loved to fish and garden and she was involved with the Special Olympics. She had married Roy Wisely and he preceded in death.  She married Ron Compton and he preceded in death. Ms. Compton had lived in Opp, AL and Coffeen, IL during her lifetime.

Ms. Compton is survived by her children, Linda (husband Rich) Penrod of Cedar Rapids, IA; Floyd (wife Mardi) Wisely of Campbell Hill, IL; Ginger Alexander of Coffeen, IL; Brandy Compton of Coffeen, IL; and Judy (companion Lynne) Mitchell of Tampa, FL; seven grandchildren, Scott Huber, Mark Pahlman, Damon Alexander, Jaime Brown, Cody Alexander, Rusti Penrod, and Kayla Penrod; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and her siblings, Jena Alexander, Gail Davis, Joyce Spann, and Jewell Alred. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; one brother and one sister; and son-in-law, Randy Alexander.
